5. Batman Forever: Red Book Edition
Joel Schumacher's Batman Forever is one of the more divisive Batman movies to date - neither as grimly artful as Tim Burton's Batman films nor as shamelessly silly as Schumacher's sequel Batman & Robin, it's a film that never quite strikes a consistent tone despite its intriguing elements.
Batman Forever: Red Book Edition attempts to redress the tonal balance and create a movie more in step with Burton's films.
This cut of the film not only significantly tones down Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones' mugging as The Riddler and Two-Face respectively, but restores deleted scenes exploring the psychology of Bruce Wayne (Val Kilmer), while also de-saturating much of the image and placing an emphasis on the colour red.

It's still a rough around the edges movie, for sure, but by toning down the silliness and amping up the visceral feel, it's an effortlessly superior cut of the film. Good luck trying to fix Batman & Robin, though.
